Our employees collect your prepared transport goods directly from your apartment or office and deliver them to the desired location at the destination. Collection and delivery are carried out with two-person handling. For transport, we load your items into a pallet box used exclusively for your order and provide professional transport securing inside the box. The main transport leg is handled via the DACHSER SE network.
This gives you a managed transport solution for smaller quantities that goes beyond classic parcel shipping, without requiring a complete move.
Do your items fit into our pallet box?
The core element of our small transport service is the DACHSER & KOLB pallet box. It is used exclusively for your order. Items from other customers are not added to your box.
Before calculating your non-binding initial price, you can use the dimensions to check whether your items are suitable for this transport method.
- Internal dimensions of the transport box: 1.50 m length × 1.10 m width × 1.40 m height
- Volume: up to 2.31 m³ per box
- Weight: up to 100 kg per individual item and a maximum of 500 kg per box
- Quantity: A maximum of two transport boxes can be used per order.
The box is suitable, for example, for several moving boxes, smaller pieces of furniture, personal belongings, or a combination of these.
Important: The items must fit completely within the box dimensions. A large, non-dismantlable wardrobe, a long sofa, or other pieces of furniture that exceed the internal dimensions cannot be transported using this method. If your transport goods are too large for the pallet box, we can individually review whether another small or special transport solution is possible.

More than classic parcel shipping: What is included in small transport
A small transport service with DACHSER & KOLB includes more than pure transport between two addresses. It is suitable for smaller transport quantities that fit into one or a maximum of two of our pallet boxes. This can include individual pieces of furniture, several packed moving boxes, or a smaller quantity of household goods.
The service therefore closes the gap between classic parcel shipping and a complete move. You do not need your own moving van for just a few items, and at the same time you do not have to organize the entire transport logistics yourself.
Within the agreed scope of services, we handle, among other things, collection from your premises, two-person handling, the pallet box, loading, transport securing inside the box, the main transport leg, and delivery at the destination.
You prepare your items for collection. We then secure your prepared items inside the transport box. This means you do not have to organize your own transport pallet or take care of complete shipment securing for the main transport leg yourself.
The term part load or co-loading is also used for such transport concepts. At DACHSER & KOLB, however, the service includes more than simply using available transport capacity. The price of this type of small transport is therefore not directly comparable with classic parcel shipping. The specific costs depend, among other things, on route, volume, weight, and scope of services.

Suitable furniture, moving boxes, household goods, and other personal items can be transported, provided they comply with the applicable dimensions, weights, and transport conditions.

Furniture and other items must be suitably packed and prepared for transport. The sender is responsible for transport-safe packing of the individual items. DACHSER & KOLB then takes care of professional securing of the prepared items inside the transport box.
Some items cannot be transported via our small transport service for safety, liability, or transport-related reasons.

Preparation and transport securing: Who handles what?
You pack and protect your items for collection. DACHSER & KOLB then takes care of professional transport securing inside the pallet box. This clearly defines who is responsible for which part of the preparation.
What you handle
Fragile contents must already be adequately protected inside their packaging. Dishes, books, clothing, and personal items should, for example, be packed in suitable boxes. Sensitive furniture surfaces and comparable items should also be roughly protected against scratches and surface damage before collection, for example with suitable blankets or films.
Classic moving boxes are suitable for many personal items. You can find these and other packing materials, for example, in our moving shop.
An inventory list of the items you want to send is also required for transport. For cross-border transports, it is also relevant for further handling.
What we handle
During collection, our employees load your prepared items into the pallet box. Inside the box, we then handle professional fixing and securing against transport-related movement. You therefore do not have to organize your own pallet or prepare the complete transport securing for the main transport leg yourself.

Delivery at the destination
At the destination, delivery is also carried out or coordinated with two-person handling within the agreed scope of services.
Special local requirements are taken into account individually and may make additional services necessary.
Small transport as a part load: What does that mean?
With a part load, smaller transport quantities are integrated into existing transport processes instead of necessarily using a dedicated transport for them.
At DACHSER & KOLB, however, the service is not limited to the main transport leg. Depending on the agreed scope of services, it also includes collection, two-person handling, the transport box used exclusively for your order, transport securing, and delivery.
The service should therefore not be equated with the price of classic parcel shipping or a simple freight shipment.

The internal dimensions of a pallet box are 1.50 × 1.10 × 1.40 meters. An individual item may weigh a maximum of 100 kg, and the total weight per box is a maximum of 500 kg. No protruding parts are permitted. Up to two boxes are possible per order.

Are my items transported in a box together with those of other customers?
No. The pallet box used for your order is used exclusively for your items. No transport goods from other customers are added inside your box.
Can I also send only moving boxes?
Yes. You can also use our small transport service to send only packed moving boxes. The decisive factors are volume, weight, and the respective transport conditions.
Do I have to pack my items myself?
Yes, you must prepare your items appropriately for collection and protect fragile contents as well as surfaces. DACHSER & KOLB then takes care of professional transport securing inside the pallet box.
Do I need an inventory list?
Yes. An inventory list of the transported items is required for small transport. Especially for cross-border transports, it is also relevant for further handling.

Before delivery, the further process is coordinated; at the destination, your items are delivered within the agreed scope of services and handover is documented.
Documents such as delivery receipts and invoice are provided digitally during the further process.
